Give yourself an edge at yachtmaster

This is a higher level course for people moving towards Yachtmaster.

 

A good refresher course for candidates considering progressing into Yachtmaster training, and this two day course can be extremely useful for Yachtmasters who are converting from sail to motor qualifications.

This course is also ideal for those who want to progress their night pilotage skills, but might not yet have the experience required for the Coastal Skipper course. Candidates should register for this course if they have boat handing skills to the level of Day Skipper; navigation theory knowledge at the standard of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore shorebased course; should hold a VHF/SRC certificate for Marine Radio and a First Aid qualification. All of these courses are available at Aigua Sea School.

The syllabus of this intensive two day motor cruising training course includes: passage planning, preparation for sea, pilotage, passage making and responsibility as a skipper (daylight hours), use of radar, boat handling, dealing with adverse weather conditions, dealing with emergency situations and night cruising.

This course is ideal for those who want to progress their night pilotage skills, but might not yet have the experience required for the Coastal Skipper course.

Pre-course experience Boat handling to the standard of the Day Skipper practical course

Minimum duration 2 days including 1 evening
Minimum age 17
